El Quseir is a small quiet city and port with a long, significant past. Its history ranges from; the troops of the Queen Hatschepsut through to the pilgrims of the Sultan on the way to Mecca; from the Roman Zenturionen until the Arabian traders of the Renaissance: during the last 4000 years many have used this remote outside post on the coast of the Red Sea as a starting point for exploration, extentions and trade with the far away oriental lands.

El Quseir is the only historical city on the Red Sea, at the end of 18th century even Napolon landed on the reef directly offshore to the todays Fanadir Holiday Resort

From here he conquered the impressive Otto-manic fortress of Sultan Selim in the heart of the city centre. Recently renovated this unique monument has now been equipped with a visitors centre.

El Quseir is a lovely, ambitious place and offers quiet, extensive beaches. The local reef system provides excellent diving on pristine corals with crystal clear water. Located approximately 1 km south of El Quseir, the Hotel Fanadir, provides the perfect base to connect the adventure of diving with the calming of the authentic ambiance.

Size and Layout of this Bungalow

There are 28 bungalows that are arranged in an arc, all with a fantastic view of the red sea. The bungalows are furnished in an authentic Egyptian style, and are either equipped with twin or double beds. All rooms are en suite with shower and WC, as well as air-conditioning, TV and minibar. Nearby the mainhouse our two storeyet Villa is situated, which is build with nature stone. There are situated multiple room apartments, each with two bedrooms and one bathroom. One apartment has additive one living room. The furniture made with natur wood, as a matter of course the apartments have Sat. TV, Minibar and Aircondition. All Apartments have a balcony or a terrace, from where you can have a wunderfull view to the sea and the harbour of El Quseir.

Each room has its own small terrace with palm furniture. Here you can start the day with a delicious breakfast, spend the evening relaxing with a cool drink or simply watching the breathtaking view on the red sea.

Our traditional restaurant is in the main house. Here you can enjoy our breakfast buffet and our variety of evening menus. We pride ourselves on the fact that our internationally experienced cooks provide you with a flavour of the Arabian kitchen. As we wish to make your stay with us as memorable as possible, of course we respond to your individual wishes and requests.

During the day you can have some soft drinks in our pool or Beach bar, as well as small snack In the evening, the Oriental pavilion invites you to enjoy a Shisha with Turkish coffee or aromatic tea whilst absorbing the ambiance of the rolling waves.
The Fanadir El Quseir Accommodation has an extensive red sea beach with generously arranged sunshades inviting relaxation and recuperation. Directly on our beach is the beach bar, which offers refreshing drinks and snacks.

Transport and parking in the vicinity

The Fanadir Holiday Resort in El Quseir is about 90 km from Marsa Alam airport and about 150 km to Hughada airport. Both airports have weekly flights by different airlines.

In order to remove any hassle from your holiday we are available to pick you up from and return you to the airport.

As a part of our program, we have a trip to the Bedouins, where you can enjoy their hospitality with Bedu-style coffee and tea or with a barbeque in the evening.

A visit to Shelatin to the camel and Bedouin market is also special. Shelatin is considered to be the most important tribal market in the south of Egypt.

On the Emerald Cities Tour, you will visit the National Park Wade el Gemal, the tombs of the Blemmey tribe the ancestors of the Bedouins, the Roman village of Geli, as well as the ancient settlement of Sakit. Sakit is famous for its well-preserved Roman houses and its temple cut out in living rock.

For watching the starry skies, we offer a camel ride to visit the Bedouins, joining them in their hospitality for an authentic dinner, followed by a visit to the Astronomy Center of Marsa Alam, a unique place in Egypt. At the Astronomy Center, an astronomer will help you to understand the mysteries of the Universe.

For those who prefer to stroll, there is a lovely footpath on the beach that leads past small Egyptian restaurants and a local shipyard, directly to the El Quseir plaza. There you will find bazaars and shops that will invite you to stay and dawdle.

With luck you can meet our residents, Emma a 3m length Dugong, or the pod of playful dolphins.

Special reference to our Natural Swimming Pool in our reef, that is about 1,60 m deep with sandy ground.

Our PADI 5* IDC Gold Palm Resort with a German base leader is directly on our beach.

There you can join PADI courses Discover Scuba Dive to Instructor, as well as many specialties.

Day and half day tours with the jeep and the boat are also offered like a mini-safari to the Brother Islands. Naturally hotspots like Abu Dabab, Elphinstone and Dolphin House are all regular visits on the program.
